I take it back. On a very basic level, my desire disqualifies me. It means I am looking for hope in this madness, that I'm looking for purpose in my shame, and that level of humanity leaves me too vulnerable to insanity to stare it in the face with unblinking, wisegrrl eyes. Hope, yes...the same hope that keeps me checking my e-mail, hoping he's responded to the plea, when of course he hasn't because I didn't write it the way it should have sounded, the way that says, you got a fast car...
